5. Medical Records & Appointments

5.1 Patient Records

You have the right to access your medical records at any time. Requests for medical records must be made in writing and may be subject to administrative fees as permitted by law.

5.2 Appointments

• Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time
• Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance
• Three or more no-shows may result in restricted booking privileges
• Emergency walk-ins are accepted but may have longer wait times

5.3 Prescriptions

Prescriptions will only be issued following an in-person or authorized virtual consultation. We reserve the right to refuse prescription requests that do not meet medical standards.

6. Payments & Billing

• Insurance: We accept most major insurance plans. Please verify coverage before your visit.
• Self-Pay: Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made.
• Late Payments: Accounts overdue by more than 60 days may be sent to collections.
• Refunds: Refunds for unused services may be requested within 30 days of payment.
• NHIF: National Hospital Insurance Fund claims are processed according to NHIF guidelines.

6. Maternity Services Specific Terms

• Antenatal Care: Regular check-ups are recommended throughout pregnancy
• Birth Plans: While we respect your birth preferences, medical decisions will prioritize safety
• Newborn Care: All newborns receive standard screening and vaccination per Kenyan protocol
• Emergency C-Section: We reserve the right to perform emergency procedures when medically necessary
• Transfer Protocol: In case of complications beyond our facility's capacity, patients will be transferred to appropriate higher-level facilities

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jire Maternity Home and its employees, physicians, and agents shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, revenue, or profits
• Delays or inability to use our services
• Unauthorized access to your data due to your own security negligence

8. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfering with the proper functioning of the website
• Uploading viruses or malicious code
• Harassing staff or other patients
• Providing false medical information
• Using the system for illegal purposes
• Reverse engineering any part of our software

9. Account Termination

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kisumu, Kenya.
